The Harmony PeopleThe Harmony People are back! Anjalisa Aitken and Gary Garrett met in 2013, when Gary was performing in California, and Anjalisa began harmonizing, full voice, from the audience. They sang some more, and very soon they and everyone within earshot realized that they would be making lots of music together. In honor of the way they met, they called their new duo Voice Recognition. They began to tour steadily in Hawaii and on the West Coast, from Southern California up to Seattle, giving house concerts and public shows of their original, uplifting, sophisticated music that have touched audiences. Their first CD, Summer, came out in August 2014, and in December 2014 they released Extended Play, a four-song EP with multilayered harmonies. In 2015, a stranger recognized them in Hawaii and said, “Hey, I know you, you’re the harmony people!” They drove away saying, “I think we just got renamed.” The Harmony People were born. www.theharmonypeople.com

Pepper Daniel of KJUG says Trevor's music is "pure country gold". From the Chicago Reader: "Most of his songs deal with familiar strains of heartbreak, infidelity, and romantic longing: 'His Wedding Ring Is Gone' employs a hangover-like conceit, with the subject regretfully waking up to realize he’s hawked his wedding ring for a night of drunken sex, while 'Write a Song for You' cleverly finds the narrator wagging his finger at an ex, betraying his indifference while singing, 'I’ve wasted enough time / Why would I waste a rhyme?'” http://www.trevormcspadden.com/

In Concert! New York's David Massengill - 6:30-9:00pm
601 Embarcadero
Morro Bay, CA 93442
(805) 772-8388 [map]
Price: $10

David MassengillSongwriters at Play presents an intimate concert with Greenwich Village folksinger David Massengill, hailed by the Boston Globe as "a show-stopper... His upbeat humor, enticing stage presence and ability to sling an Appalachian dulcimer over his shoulder like an electric guitar made it look and sound right. The multi-talented Massengill, a master of vivid lyrical imagery, was riveting..."

A native Tennessean, David Massengill's songs have been recorded by Joan Baez, David Bromberg, Chad Mitchell, The Roches, Lucy Kaplansky, Tom Russell, Nanci Griffith and his mentor, Dave Van Ronk, who once said Massengill "took the dull out of dulcimer." His songwriting style ranges from tragic mountain ballads to the lure of tender love songs and iconic political narratives.

"There's something disarmingly soothing about the sound of David Massengill's voice. As a thirty-year resident of New York's Greenwich Village, he speaks with efficiency, wisdom and streetwise common sense-but also that mellow Tennessee accent that envelops his words with all the charm of a soft-spoken Southern gentleman. One could listen to him speak for hours on end... and that's not a bad quality for a master storyteller like Massengill to have." -- Sing Out magazine

A few years after graduating, Vox took up the ukulele. Her music style shifted to chanson tinged with jazz, which, over the years, has settled in nicely with her pop songwriting flair. With 10 albums under her belt (as an unsigned artist), Victoria continues to grow and hone her craft.
